Clearance and creepage distance

 

5.2 The electrical clearance and creepage distance between the live parts in the device and the metal parts to the ground should meet the requirements of 5.2 and 5.3.

5.3 The electrical clearances and creepage distances between all horizontal busbars, vertical busbars, branch lines and live parts of main circuit connectors and between grounded metal parts should be not less than 20mm when the rated insulation voltage is 380V and 660V (this article The regulations apply to low-voltage drawer-type switchgear. For low-voltage fixed-type switchgear, refer to Table 8.

Note: The thermal stress and electrical stress should be considered when selecting the clearance and creepage distance of the main busbar and the high-current busbar

 

5.4.1 The distance between the inlet and outlet terminals of the universal circuit breaker is less than the above provisions, then the clearance and creepage distance of the branch lines on the connection terminals are allowed to be equal to the spacing between the terminals, but not less than those specified in Table 8.

5.4.2 If non-insulated metals (such as screws, spring pads, gaskets, etc.) are added between bare live parts of different polarities or between bare live parts and grounded metal, this is considered to be a reduction of the gap.

5.4.3 When a part of the busbar or busbar connection fails to meet the requirements of 5.2, the method of wrapping insulating tape is allowed, but it shall not be less than the requirements of Table 8.
